Relux Collision

There’s a difference between a car wash with wax and detailing done to a luxury standard, and it’s visible from ten feet away. One makes a car clean. The other makes a black Mercedes read like poured glass, brings a Porsche’s paint back to the depth it had under the showroom lights, and returns an interior to the condition the word “luxury” originally promised.

Relux Collision does the second kind. We’re a collision shop, which means paint is our profession, not a sideline: the same people who color-match and finish repair work to factory standard run our detailing bays. Thirty years of working on Sacramento’s better cars taught us exactly what their finishes need, and what harms them.

Paint Correction: The Real Transformation

Most “swirled” or “tired” paint isn’t worn out; it’s microscopically scratched by years of automatic washes, dusty covers, and enthusiastic-but-wrong towel work. Paint correction machine-polishes those defects out of the clear coat in controlled stages:

Auto paint and scratch repair is measured work: we gauge the clear coat, correct to the level the paint can safely give, and stop. A collision shop’s discipline matters here because we know precisely how much material a finish has to spare and on which panels a previous repair requires a different approach.

Ceramic Protection: Keeping The Finish You Just Restored

Corrected paint deserves defense. A professional ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat and gives the finish a hard, slick, deeply glossy surface layer that makes washing easier, resists chemical etching from bugs and droppings, and shrugs off the UV that dulls unprotected paint through a Sacramento summer. It is honest to say what ceramic doesn’t do: it will not stop rock chips. For impact protection, the answer is paint protection film, and the strongest combination is film on the impact zones with ceramic over everything, which is precisely the pairing we install most on luxury cars.

Interior Restoration For High-End Cabins

Luxury interiors age in ways ordinary ones don’t, because the materials are better and less forgiving:

Sun-baked interiors from Sacramento’s parking lots are a specialty of circumstance: UV conditioning and protection are part of every full interior service.

Detailing For Exotics And Collector Cars

The cars we detail overlap heavily with the cars we repair: Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley, and their company. Exotic detailing is mostly about knowing what not to do: satin and matte factory finishes must never meet a polisher or a wax; carbon-fiber weave has a clear coat with its own rules; and a paint-to-sample color with a previous repair somewhere in its history needs the panel-by-panel judgment our estimators apply daily. Collector cars are approached with era-appropriate methods and a bias toward preservation over shine-at-all-costs.

Our Process

STEP 1:

Drop-Off & Vehicle Inspection

When you arrive, we do a full walk-around inspection to note your vehicle’s current condition — scratches, stains, oxidation, and anything that needs extra attention. We’ll recommend the right package and set clear expectations before we start.

STEP 2:

Pre-Wash & Decontamination

Before touching your paint, we rinse away loose dirt and apply a chemical decontamination treatment to break down iron deposits, tar, and embedded road grime. This protects your clear coat and preps the surface for a deeper, safer clean

STEP 3:

Exterior Hand Wash & Dry

Every panel, wheel, wheel well, and door jamb is hand washed using a two-bucket method and pH-balanced shampoo. We finish with a microfiber hand dry to prevent water spots.

STEP 4:

Interior Deep Clean

Full vacuum of seats, carpet, floor mats, and trunk. We shampoo fabric, condition leather, clean all hard surfaces and vents, and leave every window and mirror streak-free.

When Detailing Pairs With Repair

A meaningful share of our detailing happens alongside collision work, and it’s the most efficient version: the car leaves with repaired panels, and the rest of the finish brought up to match, so nothing about the repair announces itself. If your car is coming in for bodywork anyway, ask about adding a correction, ceramic coating, or a full interior service to the same visit. One drop-off, a complete result.

Packages And Scope

Every luxury detail here is scoped to the individual car rather than pulled off a menu, because a two-year-old garage-kept 911 and a sun-lived SUV need different work. Broadly, services run from maintenance-level exterior and interior details through single-stage and multi-stage paint correction to full correction-plus-ceramic protection and complete interior restoration.

Tell us the car, how it lives, and what’s bothering you about it, and we’ll recommend the scope that fixes exactly that:
Luxury Detailing FAQs
What makes detailing at a body shop different from a detail shop?

Paint knowledge, mostly. We measure clear coat before correcting, we recognize previous repair work and adjust for it, and the standard we polish to is the same one our repair refinishing must meet: indistinguishable from factory.

How long does paint correction last?

The correction itself is permanent; those defects are gone. How long the finish stays that way depends on how the car is washed and whether it’s protected. Ceramic coating substantially extends the results, and we’ll show you the wash routine that keeps them.

Can you detail a car with matte or satin paint?

Yes, and carefully: matte finishes require specialist cleaning and protection; never polish or use conventional wax. If a detailer doesn’t lead with that distinction, keep your matte car away from them.

My leather driver's seat looks ten years older than the passenger's. Fixable?

Usually improvable to a striking degree: cleaning, conditioning, and color refreshing recover most bolster wear. True cracking through the hide has limits, and we’ll show you honestly where they are on yours.

Is ceramic coating worth it without paint correction first?

Rarely. Coating seals in whatever’s underneath, swirls included. Correct first, then protect; doing it in the other order preserves the defects beautifully.

Do you detail cars you haven't repaired?

All the time. Detailing stands on its own here; the collision shop behind it is simply why the paintwork judgment is sharper.
